Inspired by and the Winning entry...

Welcome to another day in blogland where I'm going to share some Pebbles inspiration and announce the winner of my Pebbles give-away!

So, when you're about to embark on a project, where do you gain your inspiration from? Do you wade through your magazine stockpile, spend hours bloghopping, visit countless on-line galleries or find inspiration from a simple shopping trip? I quite often see something whilst shopping and think... oh my goodness I could totally use that in a layout or as a card etc and then grab out my camera to take a photo. People must think I'm crazy at times!

Our DT assignment at Pebbles this week was to find something to inspire a project, whether it be an article of clothing, a photo, a piece of fabric etc. I chose a picture of a gorgeous baby quilt that I'd been hoarding on my computer... when I was pregnant with my son I had really wanted to make a quilt very similar to this one but just never managed to find the time. Looking back I probably should have asked my Mum to do it for me. LOL!

Here's my layout with my little man who was only a couple of hours old, all suggled up with his new paper quilt! Well it's not quite the same but atleast I get to see what he might have looked like if I'd made it for him.
Don't forget to check out the Pebbles blog all this week to see what has inspired the rest of the design team!

I had so much fun putting this together so thought I'd share how I created the little squares using the adorable Pebbles New Arival - Boy collection.

Patchwork Step x Step

STEP 1:
Choose your papers and cut equal size squares to suit the required space you are working with. Pierce holes in a cross pattern onto each square (don't forget to use a corkboard or similar under your paper).

STEP 2:
Turn your paper over to the backside and draw a line 1cm in from each edge then cut out the corners. Using sharp scissors fringe cut each edge.

STEP 3:
Fold up each of the fringe cut edges.

STEP 4:
Adhere all your squares to your layout before scrunching all the fringes. Once you have your squares in place you can begin scrunching the fringes together.

And that's it... fairly simple, bit fiddly, very time consuming but seriously worth it!

Who's the lucky winner?
Well I have finally had time to sit down and give the random generator a work-out to choose a brand new home for my spare Pebbles DT Scrappy Stash, so congratulations goes to...

Congratulations Elisabeth... Could you please email me at thescrapfarm@bigpond.com with your details so I can ship your prize to you. Thanks!

From farm to you...
