Doodlebug | Never Too Old For Ice-Cream!

Tuesday, June 3, 2014

Now where did that weekend go and how come it's Winter already? I hate the cold so today I thought I'd share a layout I created recently because it's bright, cheerful, has an ice-cream theme and screams Summer! And... how could anyone go passed a collection aptly named Sugar Shoppe? It's as good as it sounds.

PROJECT | Never Too Old For Ice-Cream Layout

THE STORY | My daughter was indulging in an ice-cream cone and although she is a teenager, she enjoyed it as much as she would have had she been five years old again. Cheeky kid still managed to give me a wink when she knew I wouldn't be overly happy with her eating it just before supper time.

I played around with the design for a while and eventually came up with the idea of creating a heart shape using strips of the gorgeous patterned paper and continuing the strip down through the shape by using co-ordinating colours of embellishments. It was certainly a great way to use up some of that stash.

LAYOUT TUTORIAL | If you would like to see how I put this layout together then you can view the tutorial on the Doodlebug blog HERE.
