Lovin' the Lucy Bird...

Thursday, January 21, 2010

I have managed to sneak a little bit of creative time into the holiday schedule and made a few fun things from the Imaginisce 'Lucy Bird' collection.

This little frame was so much fun to make. I am rather partial to lots of 'fussy-cutting' and the i-top was given another work out whilst making the cutest little brads using my daughter's favourite angora jumper that she'd sadly grown out of last year and didn't have the heart to part with it. I made the little tree by using a stiff piece of acetate as the backing board.

I had so much paper left over from making the picture frame that I decided to make a layout and a few cards using up the odds and ends. It's amazing how much you can get out of just a few pieces of double sided patterned paper. I also love how you can use the same papers and get such vastly different looking projects. 'Imaginisce' designs are certainly full of versatility and I'm loving it!

Now, those of you who know me will understand that I don't do 'stamping', it's not because I don't like stamping, it's just that I can never get the hang of it! Well, last night I was determined  to use some of the gorgeous stamps from the 'Lucy Bird' collection and seriously give stamping a proper go... and the above two cards are my 'stamping' creations. I even managed to do a bit of 'flocking' for the first time and boy was it fun... however, I did make quite a bit of mess, but hey, that's the fun of it, right? Note to self, put remaining flocking back in its packet immediately and do not leave it near open glue pad... oops!

From farm to you...

  2. Oh, and I completely understand about the stamping! I learned not to long ago that a lot of the stamping has to do with the type of ink pad you use! Once I found a good ink pad, I enjoyed stamping MUCH better!
