A New Year with a big Prize...

Saturday, January 1, 2011

Happy New Year to you all! I can't believe that we have flown through 2010 and we are now at the start of another year... what will this year bring to us all?

Imaginisce have decided to start the year with a New Design Team and a fresh, new and exciting challenge hosted by Cristal 'Pinky'. This month we are giving you the task to find something that has been taking up space in a cupboard and to re-use and re-purpose your item. At the end of January a winner will be chosen to take home a $75 package full of Imaginisce goodies! For full details visit the Imaginisce blog HERE. We are also giving away a fabulous prize just for playing along with todays design team blog hop... one lucky follower will have the opportunity to take home this amazing gift.

So what did I do for the challenge...

I've had this mask in my crafty cupboard for far too long and have had many a plan to give it a revamp so this challenge was just perfect, especially as my daughter just loves the venetian masks and is planning of having half her bedroom wall covered with them. So here's one to add to her collection.

With the help of the new Imaginisce cordless glue gun, my i-rock and the gorgeous Garden Party collection I decorated the mask with hotrocks, paper fans and lots of roly rosies from the 'brights' range.

The roly rosies are so quick and easy to make with the help of the Imaginisce petal roller, you press out the pre-cut shape, roll the shape with the roller tool and add a touch of hot glue to the base and presto... one flower ready to attach to your project. I also added a white doily style flourish cut from my Cricut Expression using the 'Straight From the Nest' cartridge.

To fill some gaps and add a bit more sparkle I've hot-glued various sized snowflake crystals from the Cottage Christmas collection.

The i-rock was wonderful for adhering the rhinestones, especially over the curved surface of the mask.

To be in the running for today's fabulous prize package you must:
