Having the ability to mix and match different collections from the one manufacturer really shows that the designer knows what they are doing and plans ahead so that the customer gets maximum value from the range. I love nothing better than rummaging through different collections to find a little bit of this and a little bit of that to create one final project and sometimes the most unusual combinations can work out the best. Take this bright yellow star on a soft pink bed of flowers... who'd have thought!
My Pebbles DT assignment was to Mix and Match different collections and I chose to blend the New Arrival Girl and New Arrival Boy with a hint of 'bright' using yellow Chipz to create a sweet little card.
I decided to add some fun little layers by mounting a smaller star on top of the larger glitter star and then finishing off the look with a brown Candy dot. I also added another candy dot to the rub-on lettering just to tie everything in together visually.
More layering... another technique that I enjoy playing with is punching flowers using the same paper as underneath and placing the flower over the top of the existing pattern using a pop dot. This technique works especially well with polka dots or any repetitive pattern.
Don't forget to pop on over to the Pebbles blog today to see what other designers have done with the mix and match theme
From farm to you...
