Happy Mail Challenge 4 - Twine!

Friday, November 16, 2012

Twine... who doesn't love this stuff? Shamefully I have to admit that I have quite a good supply as I can't resist any new colour that hits the shops. It is definitely one of my weaknesses. So, I was really happy to see the criteria for the 4th Happy Mail challenge was to use twine on your card.

Okay, so every now and again I have what I call a 'moment of madness' and this is one of those moments. I was contemplating how to use the twine in a unique way and came up with the idea of knitting with it. Big mistake... I ended up with extremely sore fingers as the only thing I had small enough was tooth picks and I never thought to cut off the super sharp ends.

It was relatively slow going as I couldn't get a very good grip on the twine or the tooth-picks so I probably didn't break any speed records, however I can honestly say I finished the card in one evening! *sigh*
And what scarf is complete without tassels at the end.

The recipient of this card is someone who always knows how to make me laugh, whether she is trying to or not. I never know when to take her seriously as she has such a wicked sense of humour and 'catches' me with her dry wit more often than not. I don't know what I'd do without this beautiful friend in my life because she has been there when I needed to laugh the most!

The latest Happy Mail challenge is now open on the Big Picture Classes Blog and your entries can be linked  HERE. Would love to see lots of your beautiful card creations using twine.
