Anyhow, I'm here to show you 'Olivia' by Bo Bunny and my November sketch sample as guest DT for Handmade by Suzanne.
Suzanne asked me to have a play with the delightful Olivia collection which is really rich in romantic colours and quite feminine in its approach. However, I have really been trying to broaden my scrapping répéteur so I came up with a plan... I picked out all the patterns and colours that I would normally choose and I flipped each of them over to reveal a completely different colour pallete! Oh my goodness did I feel like a fish out of water, I pondered and re-arranged and eventually started to see a way forward! Here is the result...
I still used lots of pale flower combinations in layers to create a bit of dimension and I added a hint of glossy accents to the centres. I even went a little crazy with my retro flower punch and covered the layout in a soft fall of tiny flowers to which I added pearl centres.
How gorgeous is this Prima butterfly which arrived neatly packaged with three other colourful friends, I'm saving those for my next projects :)
I decided to use a white gel pen to doodle around some of the Bo Bunny chipboard shapes to liven the darker colour scheme, can't help myself!
A little bit more 'glossy accents' on the Pink Paislee foam letters to give a Lovely sheen and there you have it... my sketch layout sample!
Now, if you would like to enter this month's sketch challenge you will find all the details HERE - and the prize is a $20 gift voucher to spend in the Handmade by Suzanne on-line store. And as an added bonus, Marg from Marg's Bits and Pieces has kindly offered to donate a gorgeous selection of her handmade embellishments to a second lucky entrant. Hope to see your creations in the gallery! Good luck!
