Working and creating with paper is such a relaxing hobby that consumes my evenings when the troops are in bed and the house is quiet. But... add a little chocolate to the mix and you have the perfect combination of relaxation and celebration. What better way to scrap than to have a big bowl of chocolate MnM's beside you as you work. And double the fun if you can incorporate them into your design.
After making a few MnM Christmas cards this year, I had a friend ask me if I could recreate the chocolate idea onto a couple of baby cards... well that got the 'grey matter' working overtime. And the perfect opportunity was this week's assignment at Pebbles Inc because it was 'Free For All Friday'... meaning anything and everything! Including chocolate!!!
The New Arrival collection from Pebbles has such a vast range of adorable double sided papers and both the boy and girl range have identical patterns so I could make matching cards in the pink and the blue.
I used a clear recycled packaging container for the rattle head and filled it with MnM's and perforated a strip across the back for easy access to the yummy chocolates. The swirly pattern was hand drawn using a white pain pen and brought back many memories of my old cake decorating days. I used to create the same pattern on the sides of cakes using icing and a piping bag.
Pebbles chalks are fast become one of my favourite ways to accentuate the edges of paper. I really struggle with inks because I can never get into the corners or tricky shapes and I've never got just the right colour. The chalks are perfect as they are softer and have an applicator which can find its way into any crevice no matter how small or intricate. And I really love that I can overlap one colour onto another to create just the right shade.
You can pop by the 'Free for All Friday' post HERE and take inspiration from the other DT projects.
