March Madness...

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

I know I say this every month but... can you believe it is March already? Seriously, where is the time going and what have I managed to accomplish during this first quarter? Not as much as I'd hoped so fingers crossed that I can begin to mark a few jobs off my list and the garden definitely needs to be the first item on the list as the weeds are almost as tall as the roses.

With the first day of the new month comes a challenge over at Imaginisce and this month I had the wonderful opportunity to team up with design team member Beth Moore and the two of us came up with a fun card challenge for all those 'cardies' out there!

Beth concocted a recipe using three patterned papers, three colours and three embellishments and I designed a sketch to incorporate Beth's list of requirements.

Here's my take on our challenge:

A fun little card using the new Berrylicious Collection from Imaginisce. I even created my own bakers twine as my order from the The Twinery is still on its way. I really wanted to include the twine look on my layout so decided that I'd combine some brown and yellow embroidery thread and twist like a crazy woman until it was 'kinda okay', then taped it to the back so it wouldn't unravel. LOL! Hurry up postal service!!!

I finally had the opportunity to sit down and do some quilling and stitching which made a nice change and I hope to keep adding little bits and pieces of each technique to my layouts again!

Imaginsce are giving away an i-rock tool and accessories today just for leaving a comment on their blog so pop on over and take a look at all the gorgeous cards created by the participating design team members... hopefully you'll be inspired to enter the March challenge. Look forward to seeing those entries rolling in!
