Doodlebug and Kiwi Lane swap...

Friday, April 5, 2013

It's the weekend, yay!

This week has seen a hive of activity on the Doodlebug blog with a product partnership between Doodlebug and Kiwi Lane. And I have a couple of cards to share using the Kiwi Lane Border Templates - Chestnut Drive.

The Kiwi Lane templates were used to create the layers of rolling hills on each card.

I used the tri-fold square baroque create-a-card from Doodlebug and cut a sheet of patterned paper to completely cover the background of the opened card.

I chose a couple of the Kiwi Lane Border pieces that would suit the design and then layed them on the card to work out the order of placement.

Next step was to trace around the template onto my patterned paper.

Now the Kiwi Lane tutorial videos recommend cutting your shapes with a pair of scissors but I can honestly say... scissors aren't my friend. So, I decided to stick with what I know and used my craft knife instead which gave me a much neater edge.

Add a line of double sided tape to the straight (bottom) edge of each piece and pop dots around the curved edge.

Layer all the pieces in order onto your card and then decorate with your embellishments.

Don't forget to pop over to the Doodlebug blog and catch up with all the inspiration from the rest of the team using the Kiwi Lane templates.

Now, I have an electronic cutting machine sitting on my desk that I use for all my cutting so if there is anyone out there that would benefit from the Kiwi Lane Chestnut border templates and Tiny Shapes templates then leave me a comment to let me know you are interested and I will select someone to provide these items with a new home.
