Nothing but blue skies...

Monday, August 26, 2013

A while ago I went through my stamp sets and I realised there are so many stamps I still haven't used. All the large stamps have definitely been giving a work out but it seems that the little ones were being left untouched. So I decided that I was going to make an effort to use some of the smaller pieces, but I had to work out how to make them stand out!

DESIGNED FOR | Hampton Art
PROJECT | Nothing But Blue Skies card

THE PROCESS| I drew up a simple design using a window frame and figured that if I kept the color-scheme of the card very neutral and only used black ink with the stamp then it might just work. I used distress inks to form the sky and once it had dried I stamped the little bird directly onto the distressed background. Then I stamped the sentiment in black ink to begin with but it took away the focus from the little bird stamp so I decided to re-stamp it in a matching color to the sky.

  10. I love the simple silhouette against the beautiful blue sky! It's so different from your usual style of 'the more the merrier'! There doesn't seem to be any style you can't master.
Thank you for sharing your lovely and inspiring work!:)
