JILLIBEAN SOUP | Layout Tutorial... using up the leftovers

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

Blogger is not my friend... just putting it out there. I have had so many issues trying to get a post up that I had almost given up. Fortunately after re-installing everything I have finally managed to make a post stick! Is it just me or does everyone else suffer from blogger-itis every now and again?

This layout was recently on the Jillibean Soup blog with a tutorial which you can find HERE.

I've been really thinking lately about how to get the most out of my scrapping supplies so that I can cut down on wastage and use as much as I possibly can. Firstly, I keep all my collections in zip locks bags so that everything stays together regardless of how big or small. I then decided that I was sick and tired of throwing out perfectly good paper because it was a ridiculous shape that was impossible to use but still had some really fun pictures, words or patterns. Time to think up new ways to use itty bitty elements...

Just love all the fun emoticons from the Spicy Social Soup collection as they were perfect for this particular layout and super fun shapes that were easy to fussy cut.

I went a little crazy during my fussy-cutting and had quite a pile of pieces left over so I decided to create a card using a similar approach.

Supplies:
Jillibean Soup
Patterned paper: Spicy Social Soup/1 Part App, 4 Parts Hashtags, Bite Size Bits, Taste of Texts; Birthday Bisque/Cup of Candles, Smidgen of Sweets
