A bit of this and a bit of that...

The theme this week on the Doodlebug blog is all about
'Mixing and Matching'!
We were asked to rummage through out products and find how far we could go with adding new collections to older collections and filling in the gaps with embellishments.
Now, for those of you who aren't aware of how Doodlebug works... they have an extensive base line of colours to which they make everything so it doesn't really matter what you use... it matches. And to make it even easier, they have all their products named with it's own colour so it takes all the guess work out of everything.

Here's my take on the project:

I used quite a few different collections and cardstock ranges, not to mention all the yummy embellishments that almost look edible. I have to make sure I'm not hungry when I work on my Doodlebug assignments. :)

My niece sporting her 'swimming towel hoodie' which is years old yet still fits so she has taken the approach that 'if it fits, I'll keep wearing it'! Mind you, I'd like to see her wear it at a high-school swimming carnival and see how brave she is!

The Doodlebug Chunky Brads seriously look like sweets! I also used my little scallop border punch to create a fun addition to the side of the layout that ties all the colours together.

The Doodlebug Expressions Rub-ons are definitely a new product for me and I love how the entire heading or saying is all layed out in the one little pack with different fonts and colours to really jazz up your page. And... they go on like butter!

And finally I dragged out my little EK Success flower punches again... poor little things are nearly due for retirement but they seem to go on and on and never give me grief, just wish the process wasn't so time consuming. The centrepiece was punched from the White Rainbow Dot glitter cardstock and I used each polka dot for the centre of each flower.

Products Used:
Doodlebug Petite Prints - Bubblegum, Lilac, Limeade, Swimming Pool, Tangerine
Doodlebug Colorwheel - Fancy Florals, Pocket Full o' Posies
Doodlebug Cut Outs - Classic, Santas Workshop
Doodlebug Cake & Icecream - Fun Fetti
Doodlebug Glitter Cardstock - White Rainbow Dot
Doodlebug Headlines - Summer Time
Doodlebug Expressions Rub Ons - Summer Time
Doodlebug Candy Shoppe Mini Rubons - Beetle Black
Doodlebug Chunky Brads - Bright Assortments

  5. Love it! I thought the polka dots in the middle of the flowers were stickles! You took such care to get them perfectly in the center! Gorgeous! And I actually had to look and look again to see the "time" for Summer Time! It matched so perfectly and those embellies DO look like those edible dots! :)
